Project Overview

About This Project

Swiss Beauty & Hair Academy trains hairdressers, beauticians and specialist practitioners across two Swiss campuses, in Zürich and Lausanne. The academy teaches in six languages — German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese — across a catalogue that runs from full professional qualifications to short specialist seminars in microblading, lashes, nail design and massage.

The complexity was never the problem. The problem was that all of it had to be handled by hand.

A prospective student couldn’t reliably find the right course, understand what it involved, see which campus it ran at, or enrol and pay without someone at the academy walking them through it. Every enquiry consumed staff time, and every enrolment was a manual process. The brief wasn’t “build us a website” — it was to make a genuinely complicated education business usable by the people trying to buy from it.

We built the academy on WordPress and WooCommerce as a working enrolment platform rather than a brochure with a contact form: one system carrying the full catalogue, serving both campuses in six languages, and taking real enrolments and payments.

The academy’s director has described the outcome directly: the enrolment process was streamlined, course registrations increased significantly after launch, and multi-language support opened markets the academy couldn’t previously reach.

That last point is worth drawing out. Teaching in six languages isn’t a feature of the website — it’s the reason students who would otherwise have looked elsewhere can enrol at all.

Swiss Beauty & Hair Academy remains an active client, and the work has extended across the wider group — Swiss Fashion Academy and Swiss Nutrition Academy are both built and maintained on the same principles.

What We Built

Key Features & Solutions

Feature view 1
  • Payment that matches how courses actually sell A short seminar and a full professional qualification are not the same purchase, and forcing both through one checkout would have cost enrolments. The platform supports payment in full, payment by invoice, and monthly instalments through WooCommerce Subscriptions. For longer programmes, requiring the entire fee upfront is a barrier — and removing that barrier is a commercial decision, not a technical one.
  • One platform, six languages Rather than building separate sites per language or campus, the academy runs a single central platform serving all six teaching languages. Course information, pricing and the enrolment journey stay in one place — so an update happens once, not six times, and nothing silently drifts out of sync between languages.
  • Two campuses, one catalogue Students choose their location as part of the journey rather than navigating to a different site to find it. The catalogue stays unified while the practical detail — where a course runs — stays clear.
Feature view 2
  • A catalogue that stays manageable The platform carries hairdressing, cosmetics, nail design, make-up, massage, microblading, lash extensions and specialist seminars alongside one another, structured so the academy's team can maintain it without developer involvement for routine changes.
  • Built to keep evolving The site has continued to develop since launch — course pages, dedicated landing pages, payment functionality, multilingual content, SEO and conversion work — as the academy's requirements have changed.

Bass Media Group completely transformed our online presence. The new website not only looks professional and modern, but the booking system has streamlined our entire enrolment process. We've seen a significant increase in course registrations since launch, and the multi-language support has opened up new markets we couldn't reach before.
